Lisbon Cruise Port: Private Sintra & Cascais Shore Excursion

This private shore excursion is designed for cruise passengers who want to see the best of the Lisbon coast without worrying about getting back on board. Before you set off, you’ll agree on a schedule based on your ship’s all-aboard time, so the day runs around your ship, not the other way round.

Lisbon cruise terminal

Your driver-guide meets you at the exit of the Lisbon cruise terminal (Jardim do Tabaco Quay), holding a sign with your name.

Sintra

Head west to Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage town set in green, misty hills. Walk through the historic village centre, see the Sintra National Palace with its two giant chimneys, and enjoy views of the colourful Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle on the hilltops above. Your guide will share stories of the kings, poets and romantics who made Sintra their summer retreat. If you’d like to go inside a monument, your guide can help you plan it.

Quinta da Regaleira (optional)

If your time in port allows, you can also stop at Quinta da Regaleira, a romantic palace and garden famous for its mysterious Initiation Well, a spiral staircase leading deep underground (entrance ticket not included, payable on site).

Cascais

Drive down through the Sintra hills to the Atlantic coast and on to Cascais. Stroll along the seafront promenade, see the old fishing harbour and the marina, and take time for a coffee or a pastel de nata by the sea.

Back to your ship

Return to Lisbon along the coastal road, with views of the Tagus river and Belém, and get dropped off back at the cruise terminal at least 60 minutes before your all-aboard time.

• When booking, please share your ship’s name, its arrival time in Lisbon and the all-aboard time, so we can plan the tour around your schedule.
• The tour lasts about 5 hours. If your ship’s time in port is shorter, contact us before booking.
• Entrance tickets to monuments are not included. Your guide can advise you if you’d like to visit inside one.
• Wear comfortable shoes, as Sintra’s village streets are steep and cobbled.
• The tour is fully private: only your group travels in the vehicle, and your guide adapts the pace and the stops to your interests.
