How a private Sintra tour with us works
Full-day tours start at 8 am and half-day tours at 9 am, from your accommodation anywhere within 30 km of Lisbon, Sintra or Cascais. Your guide drives, explains the history and context at each stop, handles parking and tickets, and recommends where to eat; lunch is free time in the village or on the coast. Tours run in English, Portuguese, Spanish and French. Cancellation is free up to 11 days before the tour.

Which Sintra tour is best for a first visit?
For most first-time visitors, a full day with Pena Palace, the village and the coast: the Pena Palace & Wine Tasting tour if you like wine, or the 3 Monuments tour if you want every ticket included. With only a morning, the Half-Day tour with Pena Palace.
Are Pena Palace tickets included?
On the tours that say so (3 Monuments, Pena Palace & Wine Tasting, Pena & Regaleira, Complete Experience), yes, pre-booked for your time slot. On the others, tickets are paid at the entrance and we can pre-book them if you tell us your choice when booking.
How long does it take to get from Lisbon to Sintra?
About 35 minutes by car from central Lisbon, 45 from the cruise terminal. Inside Sintra, the mountain road is slow and parking at the palaces is limited, which is where having your own driver saves the most time.
Is a private tour worth it compared with the train?
The train gets you to Sintra station; from there you still need buses, tuk-tuks or long uphill walks between the monuments, and the queues in summer are long. A private tour does the door-to-door, the tickets and the timing, and for a family of four it often costs about the same as a coach tour per person.
